On February 24, the rapidly growing sport of polo took an historic step into the sporting mainstream as the first test match took place at our very own O2 arena. Over 10,000 spectators joined The Guide to cheer on the four international teams that took part in the gladiatorial tournament.

 

City A.M Scotland defeated Mantis Group South Africa in the first match, before the celebrities took over. This special match saw the likes of former international rugby player Kenny Logan and BBC presenter Mike Bushell take on Atomic Kitten starlet Liz McClarnon and socialite Charlotte Christodoulou. All four celebrities, who had been training hard for the past three months, wooed the cheering crowd with their new-found skills in aid of The British Forces Foundation.

 

In the final match of the evening, you could sense the excitement from the crowd as the players from EFG Bank Team England took on Camino Real Team Argentina. A thrilling game was won in the final 30 seconds of the match, when Chris Hyde secured victory for EFG Bank Team England with a cracking goal.
